I want to know

I want to know your story.
I want to know who you are.
I want to know about your scars.

I want to know who you used to be.
Probably me.

I want to know your story.
This morning
In the mirror
I saw the residue
of tear stains on an empty face
And it reminded me
that I dreamt of you.

You said you wouldn't put yourself in dangerous situations
I pray that this was true.
That those situations don't come to you.
That I can wash away the residue.

For My Sister, The Mother

You are a mother.
Even to children who are not your own
and you are good at it.
I wonder if God misses you in heaven.
I wonder if the children in heaven have any idea
what they are missing.
I wonder if they pray to God
to send them to earth
to be cared for by you.
I wonder if they are jealous of your children.
I am.

You are a mother.
To children who are not your own.
You inspire me.

The Man with the Barcode Brain

"She wore far too much rouge last night and not quite enough clothes. That is always a sign of despair in a woman."

Being comfortable with yourself.

Worldly Whys

You are not mine.

My goal is not to announce my presence to you.

I do not speak just for you to see me.

All I want to do is be me.

You will find out eventually.

You will not know me simply because I tell you who I am.

You will know me because I am who I am.

No one has to tell you.

You will just know.
I do not know what questions to ask.
I do not have all the answers.

I like the way this makes me feel

It all started when I shared my cool with you.
